I love British gangster movies, particularly those that I´d consider classics… Possibly the best of all time, however, and based on one of the best gangster books of all time, was Get Carter . Fantastic stuff, and Michael Caine was perfect for the title role. Ted Lewis never really got the plaudits he deserved for writing that [book]. As far as I’m concerned, it’s the best British noir title of all time.
